Biography

導師簡介

香港鋼琴家吳鈞陶是英國倫敦皇家音樂學院 (Royal College of Music) 鋼琴音樂碩士及浸會大學音樂學士。他在香港浸會大學師隨楊淑媛博士，大學三年級時以交換生身份到美國俄亥俄州鮑林格林州立大學師隨Thomas Rosenkranz，並於英國皇家音樂學院師隨Ilya Kondratiev 及 Peter Jablonski，四位名師皆為當今活躍鋼琴家。此外他亦曾師隨Errolyn Wallen 學習作曲。

吳氏在英國、美國、香港三地，皆有豐富演出經驗。在美國俄亥俄州留學時開始演奏生涯，回港後曾為BAMS緬甸景楝音樂學校計劃籌款表演，2018年大學畢業時舉行首次獨奏會及講座演奏會。吳氏於英國倫敦攻讀鋼琴碩士，並成立Giocoso Trio管樂三重奏，在兩年間每月以室樂鋼琴家及鋼琴獨奏家身份在倫敦及其他城市舉行演奏會，其中包括倫敦漢諾瓦廣場聖喬治教堂、奧地利文化中心、布萊頓聖尼古拉堂及牛津大學。2020年回港後，吳氏先後於上環文娛中心，大館，香港演藝學院，香港大會堂及香港文化中心演出。2021年更在港台電視31 “The Works”《藝坊星期天》中接受訪問及表演。除了演奏之外，吳氏亦曾協助浸會大學電影系學生錄製電影配樂。

吳氏習琴二十一年，熱愛演奏，伴奏及教學，擁有4年教學和伴奏經驗，清楚了解學生會遇上技術及音樂感之問題，更熟悉皇家音樂學院考試程序及制度。本人能以流利英文及中文授課，受小朋友歡迎，能與家長建立良好溝通關係。

BIOGRAPHY

Hong Kong pianist Louis Ng is a Master of Music, majoring in Piano Performance from Royal College of Music. He also holds the Bachelor of Arts in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University. He started studying piano at 3 and attained the Trinity College ATCL in Piano Recital with Distinction by the age of 14 and LTCL with Distinction in 2018. He followed Dr. Shu-Yuan Sophia Yang for his undergraduate studies. He was a student of Professor Peter Jablonski and Professor Ilya Kondratiev in the UK. Besides, he pursued Composition under the guidance of Professor Errolyn Wallen.

In 2017, Ng was selected to represent Hong Kong Baptist University at Bowling Green State University in the United States and studied with Dr. Thomas Rosenkranz. In the US, he engaged in piano performances and recitals in Ohio. Back in Hong Kong, he performed for BAMS – Build A Music School in a Fund-raising Concert, which contributes to the constructions of music schools in Myanmar. He gave a lecture recital “A study of different Interpretations of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No.26, Op.81a ‘Les Adieux’ by Emil Gilels and Evgeny Kissin.” and his first solo piano recital in 2018. He was invited to perform in Phi's Music Lounge at Glue in 2019.

While studying in London, Ng has been keen on public performances, including chamber music and piano solo. His Winds Piano Trio – Giocoso Trio was established in 2018. Under the RCM Gateway Scheme, his group and he were offered a variety of performance opportunities in London. As a soloist in the UK, he gave a number of recitals in London at St Stephen's Church Gloucester Road, New Malden United Reformed Church, St. James's Sussex Gardens, St. Pauls Bedford, St. Mary-le-Bow, St. George's Hanover Square, Royal College of Music, Austrian Cultural Forum,also in Bedford, Brighton and Oxford.

Ng received various awards and scholarships. Ng is the first prize winner of the International Music Competition London "Grand Prize Virtuoso" 2019. He is a finalist of 68th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival Piano Solo - Gold Medal Award in 2016. He also received HKBU Faculty of Arts Outstanding Achievement in 2016 and 2017 and HKSAR Government Talent Development Scholarship.

After his graduation in 2020, Ng returned to Hong Kong and performed in Sheung Wan Civic Centre, Tai Kwun, Hong Kong Jockey Club Amphitheatre, Hong Kong City Hall and Hong Kong Cultural Centre. In February 2020, his interview and performance in “The Works” was broadcasted on RTHK TV 31.
